Full time MSc students

  • A five day intensive course induction programme
  • Term One (October to January) students attend weekly, each Wednesday and Thursday for their core modules 'Preventive Cardiology Theory and Practice' and 'Research Methods'.
  • During Terms Two and Three (January to July) students attend the taught component of their optional specialist modules. Specialist modules run in 3-4 day blocks of face-to-face teaching followed by e-based learning.
  • In addition, during Terms Two and Three students attend seminars and personal tutoring for the core module 'Research Project'. These seminars are dispersed through the terms and timetabled on Thursdays.
  • During Terms One, Two and Three, students attend clinical visits for the core module 'Reflective Clinical Practice'.
  • Full-time students are expected to attend all face-to-face teaching and are not offered the part distance-learning option. This is only available to part-time students. 
  • Full-time students are expected to participate in significant self-study on non-teaching days. University regulations consequently do not support concurrent employment beyond occasional evening or weekend work.
  • All students are required to attend assessment days.

PG Cert part-time

Term 1

All students attend a core induction week. Students attend the core compulsory module ‘Preventive cardiology theory and practice [10ECTS] once weekly from October through to January when this module is assessed.

Term 2 and 3

All students complete 2 of the 6 optional specialist modules (each 10 ECTS) which occur term 2 and term
