European and UK nationals
If you're a national of a country inside the European Economic Area or Switzerland, you don't need to apply for a visa to study in the UK.
Short-term Study Visa
If you're a national of a country outside the European Economic Area, and you're coming to the UK specifically to attend our summer programme, you should apply for a Short-term Study Visa. This visa allows students to come to the UK for a period of up to six months in order to undertake a short course of study. Depending on your nationality, you may need to apply for this visa before you arrive in the UK or you may be able to have your passport stamped on arrival using supporting documentation.
For further advice and how to apply, please visit our International Student Support website.
Tier 4 Visa holders
If you're already studying in the UK and are on a Tier 4 visa, you shouldn't need to apply for a Short-term Study Visa to attend our summer programme. However, you will need to provide a copy of your Tier 4 visa and a confirmation from your current educational institution. We will let you know when we need this information from you.
If you're attending our summer programme before going onto a full-time study in the UK for longer than six months you will need to apply for a Short-term Study Visa for our programme. You will then need to return home to apply for a Tier 4 Visa which will link to the institution where you will be studying your full-time programme.
Tier 2 and 5 Visa holders
You're able to study on our summer programme if your Tier 2 or Tier 5 Visa is valid for the duration of the programme. You will need to provide a copy of your visa and a letter of consent from your employer before you enrol. We will let you know when we need this information from you.
General Visitor Visas and Business Visas
Holders of General Visitor Visa and Business Visas do not have permission to study in the UK. We are therefore unable to accept them on our summer programme.
If you need further information about visas, please take a look at our International Student Support website. If you can't find an answer there, please contact the Revolutions in Biomedicine team.
