Course Objectives

The BORS annual meeting took place in September at Imperial College, London. Bringing together basic scientists and clinical researchers to discuss emerging trends in orthopaedics. Invited keynote speakers from London, Oxford and Southampton discussed novel and topical research in key themes including: Big Data, Lifelong Health and Personalised medicine. Most importantly the conference provided a forum for young researchers to present their research, including 40 podia and 90 poster presentations. Continuing the mission of BORS to promote young researchers.

A femoral nailing simulation course using real-time high fidelity theatre with full equipment and staff. Includes a training lecture, assesment and feedback.  Plus virtual reality machine (DHS and knee arthroscopy) and exam orientated viva stations.

Imperial Cadaveric ACL Course

Details

This is a cadaveric, hands on course with a high faculty:candidate ratio. Although primarily a practical course, lectures will be delivered to cover key topics including: harvesting techniques, tunnel positioning as well as post operative rehabilitation protocols. Attendees will be able to practice harvesting grafts, including BTB grafts, and then proceed to actually perform a ACL reconstruction.
