INTERSPINE  aims at exploiting the bioelectrodes and computational methods developed during the ERC Advanced grant "DEMOVE: Decoding the Neural Code of Human Movements for a New Generation of Man-machine Interfaces"INTERSPINE will translate these methods to develop a more robust general system that extracts neural information (at the individual cell level) from the human spinal cord.  2017 - 2018

INPUT

("Intuitive Natural Prosthesis Utilization") 

INPUT will strive to make the control of complex upper limb prostheses simple, natural and to be used on a daily basis by amputees effortlessly after donning -"don and play". In INPUT, the main goal will be to transfer the obtained results from laboratory settings further towards a clinically and commercially viable medical product.  2016 - 2020

EXTEND

("Bidirectional Hyper-Connected Neural Systems")

 EXTEND aims at developing the novel concept of Bidirectional Hyper-Connected Neural Systems (BHNS) to extend the capabilities of neural interfaces with minimally invasive communication links between multiple nerves in the body and multiple external devices. EXTEND will realise BHNS by developing disruptive wireless neuromuscular (injectable) interface technology that enables distributed stimulation, sensing, processing and analysis of neuromuscular activity, the ultimate stance of the neural code of movement.  2018 - 2021
