Inter-hall football reached its conclusion in a stunning climax Sunday 15 March.

The Interhalls Football Final took place off on Sunday 15 March 2015 at Harlington Sports Ground. After a tough two terms of fierce competition, the finalists were Southside and Chemical Engineering Society. Finishing at the top of the league, Chemical Engineering Society were firm favourites heading into the final, and they did not disappoint.

Despite the advantage Chemical Engineering set out with, the game was very tight, with the battle very much raging in the mid-field. Chemical engineering started the better team but Southside grew into the game and had a few decent chances. However, it was Chemical Engineering who were able to break from the midfield battle and finally score at the 60 minute mark, with a through ball, and a neat low finish into the corner from Mayowa Okulate.

winnersSouthside responded by pushing more men forward for a leveller in the last 10 mins but the leaders' defence held out for a clean sheet and the win. The final score was 1-0 to Chemical Engineering.

Throughout the competition they won their quarter final 3-1 and their semi-final 4-1. They finished the league with 28 points from 12 games. Southside are outsiders, finishing 7th in the league with 16 points. They won their quarter final and semi-final on penalties!

The league overall has been very successful and teams seemingly on equal footing, it has certainly made for a close-cut season. All participants have enjoyed it and a number of games have been closely contested. There were only 3 points separating the top 3 teams by the end of the league.

Congratulations to all that took part!
