Between 29 May and 14 June, the Careers Service is running a series of sessions which will help you get ready to build a fulfilling career.

Summer is the perfect time to relax, but also to make big plans for your life. This summer term, learn how to make the most out of your CV and cover letter, develop your confidence for interviews and start making plans for your life after graduation. These sessions are targeted at penultimate and final-year undergraduate students, as well as MSc students.

Finding summer work experience – Tuesday 29 May, 15:00 – 15:55

Want to make the most of this summer in terms of building your CV but not quite sure what to do or how to do it? This session will help you figure out the best way to build experience and find opportunities to kick start your career. Book your place on JobsLive.

Mock Assessment Centre – Wednesday 30 May, 13:00 – 17:00

As part of the summer programme the Careers Service is teaming up with handshake in an officeemployers in order to run a mock assessment centre for Imperial students. Citi Bank and GSK are already confirmed at taking part and we will shortly be announcing another key Imperial graduate recruiter.

You will experience a range of tasks and activities, each run by one of our partner employers. As well as building your awareness of the challenges of assessment centre tasks, it will help you develop your self-awareness of your group-work skills. Book your place on JobsLive.

CVs, Cover letters - the essential guide – Thursday 31 May, 12:00 – 12:55

Are your application documents in good shape and ready to secure you that dream opportunity? This session will give practical advice on how to construct effective CVs and structure winning Cover Letters for a wide range of career opportunities. Book your place on JobsLive.

Graduating with no plans - ideas of what to do next – Friday 1 June, 13:00 – 13:55

With the end of your studies insight it can be a scary and stressful time if you haven't made any plans or secured a job or further study course. This session will help you evaluate your options and formulate an action plan. We'll take proactive steps to uncover opportunities, develop your skills and build confidence in making direct approaches to potential employers.

Interviews - how to succeed – Monday 5 June, 14:00 – 14:55

Graduating without a 1st or 2:1 degree – Wednesday 6 June, 13:00 – 13:55

Please note this session is aimed at final-year undergraduates and MSc students.

Are you worried about your future if you don't secure the degree classification you want? This session will include ideas for graduate opportunities that are open to all degree classifications, as well as how to present your degree and achievements positively to potential employers.
