Centrla Library level 2

Library Services are pleased to announce that levels 2 and 3 at the Central Library are now open, ahead of schedule.

Our newly opened spaces have been completely refurbished with climate control, new furniture, including 34 height adjustable desks across the two floors, and 40 brand new all-in-one PCs on level 2. Power and data will be delivered to desks in mid-November and three new group study rooms will be open and available for bookings very soon. The ICT training room (204) has also been reconfigured with new desks and PCs, and will be available for student use when not in use for training.

Levels 4 and 5 are now quiet study zones, while levels 2 and 3 are for silent study.

Books and DVDs have been relocated to the new floors and all items which were previously marked unavailable are available again.

  • Level 2 – 0-529
  • Level 3 – 530-539, DVDs

The next phase of the project will be to refurbish the level 1 Group Study Area with new furniture, power and data, and a specialist Business Software Zone including Bloomberg, DataStream and Moody’s. This work will start immediately and the area, including Group Study Room C, has now been closed. It is expected to reopen later in the autumn term.

For the latest updates follow the timeline on the library website and our Twitter feed, and please talk to a member of library staff if you have any questions.
