CPE academics, researchers and students presented at a jointly organised workshop on organic and perovskite optoelectronics at South China University of Technology (SCUT).

Held in the State Key Laboratory of Luminescent Materials and Devices (SKLLMD), SCUT, Guangzhou, China, Ji-Seon Kim, Director of the Plastic Electronics Centre for Doctoral Training gave the first presentation of the three-day event as she discussed molecular physics as a critical tool for organic semiconductors in her keynote lecture.

Other CPE academics giving keynote lectures were Piers Barnes, Nicola Gasparini, Artem Bakulin, Martin Heeney and Martyn McLachlan. The CPE contingent was backed up with a host of researchers and students who made the journey: Mohammed Azzouzi, Jiaying Wu, Tian Du, Nathaniel Gallop, Chiara Labanti, Wentao Huang, Tom Hopper, Weidong Xu, Qiao He, Andrew Wadsworth, Dong Ding, Xiaoe Li, Katie Stewart and Jiaxin Pan.

Prior to the close of the workshop, Ruidong Xia introduced the student exchange programme that is being planned between the two centres after a lab tour.
