Student Information Management Programme
Excellent student and staff experience; empowered staff; and integrated systems
The Student Information Management Programme (SIMP) is a key programme within Operational Excellence which aims to improve student information processes for staff and students across the student lifecycle, from a first enquiry through to contact as alumni. The SIMP vision is that:
- The student experience of interacting with College systems and processes is consistently excellent, irrespective of stage in the student lifecycle, year or programme of study
- College staff have high quality information, supported by processes and systems which empower them to deliver the student experience
- Information systems work in an integrated way.
New College admissions system goes live
The College’s new admissions system to support the undergraduate and direct applications cycle for 2019 entry went live on Monday 3 September 2018. This marks an important milestone in delivering improved information processes for staff and students across the student lifecycle as part of the Student Information Management Programme (SIMP).
The Admissions go-live uses a combination of application software with the Banner student information system in support of processes across Faculties, Departments, Registry, Student Fees and ICT to realise benefits to the applicant and staff experience.
There will be a phased release of the new applications management system across the College in support of the 2018/19 admissions cycle for applications for 2019 entry.
The full Banner student information system will be brought into operation for the 2019/20 academic year to provide a foundation for all information systems involving student data. Further information about this will be communicated during the Autumn term.
