A core strength of the Imperial Community is the skill and insight of over 7,000 staff and 15,000 students. The Student Information Management Programme’s (SIMP) success will depend on harnessing these abilities - ensuring wide engagement, input and collaboration across the College.
The change management strategy for the Student Information Management Programme (SIMP) will involve:
Central, faculties and departments, build on the process user group work and target operating model to understand process responsibilities and system requirements. To share knowledge of the opportunities identified from Banner® student information system capabilities.
Estimate the commitment of effort asked of staff and students involved in the Banner® implementation. In the short term this means working with subject matter experts, and in the longer term, identifying the right staff and students to support activities such as change, test and training.
Benefits realisation planning to quantify how and when improved processes and system capabilities will begin to show benefit in different areas of the College.
Following the Department Roadshows, key contacts have been nominated by each department to help shape the business, process and technology change delivery of Banner, My Imperial and Imperial College Analytics reporting.
Student administration change workshops are focused on the management of student record activity and on the impact that Banner will have on local systems and processes.
The outputs of these workshops will help towards defining College processes and systems that reduce the need for reliance on local department systems and manual working, where appropriate.
As well as contributing expert knowledge, participants will share relevant information with colleagues to ensure that there is two-way communication between the Programme and all departments.
