Step 1 to 3

1. Staff member informs manager of their intention to take leave giving the required information

2. HR confirms rights in relation to leave and payment and confirms dates of leave

3. Line manager discusses how to stay in touch if  staff member is taking shared parental leave

4. HR notifies payroll and pension teams of staff member's leave plan

5. Individual commences paternity leave
