Summary

Amihay Hanany is doing research in string theory.

His area of expertise is on the dynamics of branes and their corresponding world volume theories, with particular attention to quiver gauge theories.

Hanany made significant contributions in this area of study.

The contributions include:

  • Brane creation effect
  • Brane Intervals
  • Brane webs
  • Brane tilings
  • Study of moduli spaces of classical solutions such as instantons, monopoles, and vortices.

There are several contributions which made contact with mathematics, among which are

  • Brane tilings
  • Tropical geometry
  • Cluster algebras
  • Coulomb branch construction of symplectic singularities
