Summary

Andreas is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the ONISILOS MSCA programme for experienced researchers, based at the University of Cyprus. He is working closely with the Clean Energy Processes (CEP) Laboratory of the Department of Chemical Engineering of Imperial College London, where he completed his PhD in 2022. His PhD work was part of the Science and Solutions for a Changing Planet Doctoral Training Partnership at the Grantham Institute of Climate Change and the Environment.

His research interests include the design and operational optimisation of low-carbon heating technologies, the identification of energy-system implications of heat and electricity decarbonisation; and modelling of large-scale thermo-mechanical (e.g., pumped-thermal) electricity storage technologies.

Before joining Imperial College London, Andreas obtained an MEng degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nottingham, where he was recognised as the best student of the course. He is an affiliate member of IMechE, from which he received the Institution Best Student and Frederic Barnes Waldron Awards in 2018.
