Summary

Dr Raby qualified from St Mary's Hospital Medical School in 1993 . He  completed the St Mary's GP Vocational Training Scheme in 1998. After completing his training he began working as a GP Principal in Kensington, where he has worked ever since. He has been a GP trainer since 2005.

In 2005 he joined the teaching staff in the department of Primary Care as the Academic Co-coordinator for the Patient Contact Course, a role which he continued until 2009. During his time as course lead he developed the course to link students with a patient for the entire year as a focus for students learning.

In 2009 Dr Raby joined Dr Wing May Kong, assisting her in the running of the undergraduate Ethics and Law programme. He is responsible for delivering parts of the curriculum across the 6 year MBBS course, and for co-developing a module "Ethics and Medical Regulation" for the BSc in Medical Biosciences.

Dr Raby's interests include Medical Law and Ethics, Narrative Medicine and the use of the Humanities, particularly film in medical education. Examples include a Specialty Choice Module for year 5 medical students on Medical Ethics and Film and a session exploring the experience of dementia using the film "Iris", which chronicles the illness of Dame Iris Murdock. 

He has written short chapters and articles on areas relating to medical ethics and law, education and primary care.
