Summary

I am a Reader in Power Systems based in the Control and Power research group. My current research is on dynamic stability and control of electric power grids with high shares of variable renewables and inverter-based resources. A key focus area is developing methods and tools for stability assurance that would allow grid operators such as National Grid to decarbonise without (a) compromising the security of supply and (b) carrying the cost of constraining off renewables in an overly conservative way.

I am the UK Director of the Global Center on Electric Power Innovation for a Carbon-free Society (EPICS). I co-lead the workforce development activities of the Global Power System Transformation (G-PST) consortium. I served as an editor of IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, IEEE Systems Journal and Elsevier Control Engineering Practice.

I am the Director of the MSc program in Future Power Networks at Imperial.
