Summary

Charlie joined the Nanoanalysis group in July 2021 as a PhD student under the supervision of Professor Ji-Seon Kim and Dr Diego Bagnis (Oninn).

His research focuses on metal halide perovskite solar cells and is funded jointly by Oninn (formerly CSEM Brasil) and the EPSRC. Charlie's research interests include energetic characterisation of photoactive and charge transport layers, investigation of slow processes (e.g. light soaking) using surface photovoltage, all with a particular focus on organic electron transport layers.

Before joining Imperial, Charlie studied at the University of Warwick where he graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry in 2019 and an MSc by Research in Physical Chemistry in 2021. His MSc thesis, supervised by Professor Ross Hatton, described the development of a transparent Ag grid electrode for use in organic photovoltaic devices.
