Esther is a research associate at the Centre for Advanced Structural Ceramics (CASC) at Imperial College, London. She joined the university in 2011 with a Barrie de la Maza fellowship, after completing her PhD at the Instituto de Cerámica de Galicia, Santiago de Compostela University.
Her research is focused on new colloidal processing approaches based on responsive building blocks, 3D printing and manufacturing complex architectures for key technologies such as energy storage and conversion, catalysis, tissue engineering or structural applications. Her interests include the development of novel approaches in colloidal processing for additive manufacturing. Her research is focused on surface engineering with responsive polymers, rheology of complex fluids and the characterization of the mechanical response of complex structures.
