Summary
Francesco earned a Master degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Pisa (Italy) under the supervision of Lorenzo Di Bari in December 2015. During the thesis work he carried out a 6-months erasmus traineeship at the Technical University of Eindhoven (TU/e, Netherlands) supervised by E. W. Meijer. Francesco's master thesis regarded the synthesis and chiroptical characterization of supramolecular system based on chiral naphthalenediimides.
In October 2016 Francesco joined the Centre for Plastic Electronics of the Imperial College London for a MRes PhD in the group of Matthew J. Fuchter, co-supervised by Jenny Nelson and Kim Jelfs. His project deals with the design of chiral small molecules as organic semiconductors.
In September 2021, he graduates with a PhD thesis titled: 'Chiroptical and Electronic Properties of Helicenes and Fullerenes as Chiral Semiconducting Materials'.
