Summary

Course/Module

Teacher, 2nd Year UG - Transition Metal Chemistry. (Undergraduate)

Teacher, 3rd Year UG - Advanced Organometallic Chemistry. (Undergraduate)

Teacher, 3rd Year UG - Inorganic Mechanistics and Catalysis. (Undergraduate)

Coordination Chemistry - CH1.I3

Aims

This course is a general introduction to the language and principles of coordination chemistry. The Crystal Field approximation will be examined along with its use to interpret spectroscopic and magnetic properties. There will be discussion about the formation of complexes, nomenclature and role of ligands and isomerism in coordination compounds, dealing specifically with those of transition metals.
