Heather joined the Urban Systems Lab in the Centre for Transport Studies as a PhD student, at Imperial College London in October 2018. Her current research focuses on incorporating urban conditions into the modelling of occupancy behaviour within commercial buildings, improving occupant-centric building design and operation, and converging transport modelling and building modelling. Her PhD research is fully funded by the CSC Imperial Scholarship.

She holds a BEng degree in Civil Engineering with First Class from the University of Nottingham, awarded in 2016. She also obtained her MSc degree in Transport with Distinction from Imperial College London & University College London in 2017. Heather worked at Nottingham Geospatial Institute during her undergraduate studies, where she involved in Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV) project.
