Aims

Module Description

Healthcare is arguably the world’s largest economic sector. It consumes at least 10% of the developed world’s resources and is growing fast. On this elective we focus on the emerging challenges that public and private healthcare providers face as a result. We consider the underlying causes, ways in which organisations are responding and what further changes are likely in the near term for which we should plan.

Module Aims & Objectives

For students intending to work in the health sector, this module aims to help them develop the insight and an ability to translate and apply the theory and practical solutions developed in other sectors of commerce and industry to the healthcare-specific challenges they will face. For others, it offers an insight into an otherwise closed world whose efficiency and effective remain of central interest to us all as payers and patients.
