Professor Morris Sloman FREng, FIEEE, FBCS, FIET is  head of the Distributed Software Engineering Section. He is a member of the  International Advisory Council for INESC-Lisboa. He was Deputy Chair of the UK  Research Excellece Framework (REF) Computer Science and Informatics sub-panel.

His research interests include autonomic management of pervasive and distributed systems, adaptive security management, privacy and security for pervasive systems.  He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Network and Systems Management and IEEE Transactions on Network and Services Management.
