Summary

Course/Module

Organiser, 4-year PhD in Bioinformatics and Theoretical Systems Biology. (Postgraduate)

Organiser, MSc in Bioinformatics and Theoretical Systems Biology. (Postgraduate)

Lecturer, Systems Biology - 3 Year. (Undergraduate)

Bioinformatics - LIFE96009

Aims

This course aims to provide a solid theoretical foundation in the algorithms and methods used for computational analysis of macromolecular sequences and structures, complemented by extensive hands-on experience working with the software and data types likely to be encountered in a research project. The programming skills acquired should give students confidence to further extend their bioinformatics skill base through self-directed study.

Role

Lecturer

Integrative Systems Biology - LIFE96018

Aims

To provide an overview over quantitative experimental methodologies and methods for their interpretation in order to study biological processes at the whole system level.

Role

Lecturer

Structural Biology and Drug Design - LIFE96019

Aims

This course has been designed to develop an in depth understanding of the principles of macromolecular structure determination.  Furthermore, the impact that structural information can have on functional interpretation is emphasised.  Finally, students should be in a position to follow strategies and conclusions from articles published in Nature Structure Biology.

Role

Lecturer
