Summary

I am the Communications Manager for the AHSC.

My role involves focusing attention on all the great things that Imperial does in turning research discoveries into new drugs, therapies and treatments for patients.  This is work is done in partnership with three NHS Trusts.

I graduated from Leicester University with a degree in BA Politics and worked as a journalist for specialist newspaper The Voice.  I had the opportunity to interview key public figures and inspiring people who overcame adversity or achieved substantial success.  I was also fortunate to travel across the Caribbean and America writing travel articles.

After four years as a journalist I decided on communications as the next stage of my career.  Before joining Imperial I worked for the University of West London as a Communications Officer.  I helped to increase the media profile of the University and its eight academic schools and manage press events with high profile guests.

I enjoy trying my hand at different activities and after watching far too many cooking and baking programmes, I now plan to expand my skills in this area.  My cookbooks will finally be put to use!

Contact me on Twitter@MaxMyers84 , to discuss all things higher education, science, medicine, Arsenal Football Club and travel.
