I am the Communications Officer for the Department of Earth Science and Engineering (ESE) in the Faculty of Engineering at Imperial College London.
Please feel free to contact me about anything relating to ESE's website, social media, communications and news output, and engagement/outreach activities. I work part-time (2.5 days/week).
I joined the College in January of 2021, after working in a wide range of different science writing, editing and communication roles – both in-house and freelance – for many years, for organisations including the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope, European Southern Observatory, European Space Agency, and more. Alongside my work at the College I continue to work as a Science Writer and Project Editor at the University of the West of England (on their Science for Environment Policy project) and as a freelance writer and editor. I have written a popular science book about Mars with Bloomsbury, entitled 4th Rock from the Sun: The Story of Mars.
I graduated from University College London with a BSc in Astrophysics, before completing Imperial College's MSc in Science Communication. I have also since obtained a PgDip from the University of Edinburgh in Biodiversity, Wildlife, and Ecosystem Health.
