I am currently studying for a PhD in Paleoclimate at Imperial College London. I will be studying the rate of melting in the Wilkes Subglacial Basin, East Antarctica, during the Pliocene. This was a period characterised by warmer-than-present temperatures, similar to those predicted for the near future as a result of global warming.
