EXtreME WEATHER-TROPICAL CYCLONES

Extreme weather has a profound impact on society. We have developed a novel weather generator: IMAGE. This is part of an open source catastrophe model project (OASIS) for the insurance sector and others. We are using fully coupled ocean-atmosphere- wave models (WRF_ROMS_SWAN) to understand the physical processes of tropical cyclones. A  physical and stochastic model of  the West Pacific is used for seasonal predictions and climate change projections.
