Research

Richard's research interests span several public health policy areas including the application of 'big data' and health services research. He is particularly interested in translational population health research, joining up academic thinking with public health practice. 

Richard leads the Undergraduate Public Health Education (UGPH) team within the School of Public Health's Department of Primary Care and Public Health with research currently underway on a range of Global Health topics, as well as pedagogies including the impact of Lifestyle Medicine and Population Health teaching on medical student learning. He is a member of the NIHR North West London Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) within the Capacity Building theme.

His previous research has involved collaboration with the King's Centre for Military Health Research, UK Ministry of Defence, US Department of Defense, Dr Foster Unit at Imperial College and work with health services researchers at King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre.
