Summary

Dr Boyd is a senior Specialty Registrar in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists and a Member of the Royal College of Physicians. She provides laboratory liaison, clinical advice and inpatient/outpatient care for patients with infection in primary, secondary and teritary level settings across London.

She was the recipient of an MRC awarded RCUK/UKRI Innovation Fellowship in Antimicrobial Pharmacology (2017 - 2021). Her research spanned a collaboration between the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU) for Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) and Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) at Imperial College London, the Centre for Antimicrobial Pharmacodynamics (CAP) at the University of Liverpool and Roche Pharma. This led to the award of a PhD in Antimicrobial Pharmacology.

She is primarily interested in how best to utilise resistance surveillance, diagnostics, stewardship, and pharmacokinetics-pharmacodynamics (PK-PD) to improve antimicrobial therapies for patients. Her research is primarily interested with the Centre for Antimicrobial Optimisation (CAMO) at the University of Liverpool and Imperial College London, and the Centre for Antimicrobial Pharmacodynamics (CAP) at the University of Liverpool.
