Research Interests and Techniques

I am interested in how neuronal properties are specified and maintained in the developing and adult nervous system. Gaining a comprehensive understanding of gene regulatory networks that specify neuronal fate will provide methods for reprogramming neuronal properties in vivo.

This research utilises the cell-type specific profiling technique TaDa (Southall et al. 2013) to map the transcriptional state, and the genomic binding of transcriptional regulators, in specific neuronal populations.
