Systems Analysis of Transport Decarbonisation Options
- To explore the optimal mix of low carbon transportation technologies and fuel pathways to reach the year 2050 goal of reducing carbon emissions to 20% or less of the 1990 levels
- To explore how different emissions constraints or cost data for drivetrains and fuel pathways change the system configuration.
The aim of this study is to map future mobility patterns with regard to passenger vehicle drivetrains and integrate this with fuel chain optimisations. An optimization modelling system will be used to generate this final model. The model will include constraints associated with both the drivetrains and fuel pathways such as GHG emissions, efficiencies, material availability, and cost.
