Adrian completed his PhD in Finance at the Business School under the supervision of Professor Marcin Kacperczyk and Professor Cláudia Custódio. He joined the University of Amsterdam as an Assistant Professor of Finance in 2022.

Adrian's research agenda centres on empirical corporate finance and sustainable finance. He is interested in understanding how transition risks shape economic decisions, and whether these decisions facilitate the transition to a sustainable economy. Through his research, he aspires to understand the strengths and limitations of finance and financial incentives in tackling the enormous sustainability challenges of our time.

Prior to his doctoral studies, Adrian worked as a research assistant at the Centre for Financial Innovation and Development at the University of Hong Kong, where he participated in several consulting projects for financial institutions and government bodies.

Adrian holds a Bachelor of Economics and Finance degree from the University of Hong Kong, a Master of Science in Economics degree from the University of Warwick, a Master of Research in Business and a Doctor of Philosophy in Finance degree from Imperial College Business School.
