Zara Qadir has been the Communications Manager for the Sustainable Gas Institute (SGI) at Imperial College London since June 2015. Zara is responsible for communications activities and strategies include publications, web marketing, social media, media outreach and conferences.
Prior to joining SGI, Zara worked as the Communications Manager at the National Institute for Health Research. During her time there she launched a national UK dementia register (Join Dementia Research) and also managed the communications programme for neurodegenerative disease and mental health research.
Over the last 12 years, Zara has worked in both the UK and Ireland as a communicator and science writer within the fields of e-learning, medical research, distributed computing, dementia research, and pharmaceutical marketing and education.
She has a keen interest in talking and writing about scientific research across a wide range of disciplines. Zara has a background in Biological Sciences from University College London, a Diploma in Public Relations and a Masters in Science Communication from Dublin City University.
