Travel and directions
On this page you will find information about travelling to the conference location by various means. For those who are not familiar with travelling in London, we recommend downloading the Citymapper application onto your mobile device which could be very useful for planning your journeys within London.
The nearest airport to the campus is Heathrow. The airport has Heathrow tube stations which are served by the Piccadilly line. The Piccadilly line can then be taken directly to South Kensington or Gloucester Road station from which the journey can be continued by foot as described below. London City Airport is also around 40 minutes by tube from the conference location; nearest station: London City Airport (DLR).
The closest tube stations to the campus are South Kensington and Gloucester Road (Piccadilly, District and Circle lines). The Mathematics department and Beit Hall can be reached from either station by foot (see walking directions below).
The Huxely building and Beit Hall are both within a short walk of the tube stations mentioned above. Below are some walking directions which may be useful:
- South Kensington station to Huxely building (11 mins approx.): After exiting the station walk along Harrington Road. At the traffic lights, turn right on to Queen's Gate. Keeping walking straight passed the traffic lights for about 5 minutes. Huxely building will be on the right hand side of the road.
- Gloucester Road station to Huxely building (10 mins approx.): After exiting the station walk along Cromwell Road (towards the checkpoint shop). When you reach the traffic lights, turn left on to Queen's Gate and keep walking straight. Huxely building will be on the right hand side of the road.
- Walking to Beit Hall: Beit Hall is situated on Prince Consort Road, on the opposite side of the road as you turn the corner from Huxely building.
