My work is based on developing innovative polymeric patterning approaches. Patterning of soft matter provides an exceptional route for the generation of micro/nanostructured and functional surfaces. Specifically, we seek to couple photopolymerization with interfacial wrinkling to directly assemble unique, custom-designed, functional surfaces and thus demonstrate advanced 3D manufacturing with light. I investigate and develop novel light-induced polymerization processes under controlled conditions, coupled with external fields, to generate smart surfaces.  This is a challenging multidisciplinary research project that leads to a number of practical and industrial applications.
