Do you need help with planning your career? Would you like to feel more confident when making career decisions?
This pop-up session will introduce you to a range of tools to increase your self-awareness and help you evaluate the opportunities that are available to you. During this session you will be provided with some practical tools to help you make effective career decisions and plan ahead and look for new opportunities. EEE – HoD Meeting, Coffee and Cake, Tuesday 27 September, 10:45, EEE building level 6, Faraday Cage

On 27 September we return from the Summer break to treat the EEE postdocs to coffee and cakes. The Head of Department, Prof Eric Yeatman will welcome everyone for the start of the academic year, and Karen Hinxman will present the PDC’s services. All EEE postdocs are welcome.

Life Sciences - Speed Mentoring, Tuesday 20 September, 14:00 – 16:00, Flowers Building

Don’t know what to do with your life? Do you have burning questions about your career that need answering?

The DoLS Postdoc Committee is organising a speed mentoring event for all Life Sciences Postdocs. During this event, postdocs will have the opportunity to discuss career progression and get advice from PIs with a wide range of experience. Mentors on the panel include Research Fellows right up to the Head of Department. Each slot lasts 10-15 minutes and each postdoc will get to sit down with at least three PIs.

Maximise your chance of making the shortlist by ensuring your CV is professional, targeted and well written. This workshop will address academic CVs. It will cover a myriad of do’s and don’ts to consider when crafting your CV. Please bring a paper copy of your CV with you to this workshop.

St Mary’s – JRF Briefing, Thursday 14 July, 9:30 – 11:00, Room G65B

With the next round of the Imperial College Junior Research Fellowship being announced shortly, this briefing session, organised by the Researcher Society, will walk you through the application form and highlight the key do’s and don’ts with the applications process.  There will also be a chance to ask questions along the way.  *Please note that there is a new application form for 2016*—be sure to check the JRF website for updates.
