PSE@ResearchDayUK 2018

PSE@ResearchDayUK - Friday 7th September 2018

The Centre for Process Systems Engineering (CPSE) is delighted to be hosting the third PSE@ResearchDayUK event and look forward to welcoming researchers and leading UK academics to discuss developments and innovations in PSE and create new opportunities for collaborative effort.

PSE is the study of approaches to analysis, design and operation of complex process systems and the development of tools and techniques required for this. The tools enable the systematic development of products and processes across a wide range of systems involving chemical and physical change: from molecular and genetic phenomena to manufacturing processes and to related business processes. This symposium will bring together researchers from around the UK to explore the latest technological advances in core and emerging application areas in PSE and to build their personal networks. Through a combination of oral presentations during the morning session and an interactive poster session in the afternoon, postgraduate students will have the opportunity to showcase their research results and share visions with leading researchers and academics in the UK. The event will start with a distinguished opening lecture by Professor Anton Kiss, University of Manchester, titled "Process Systems Engineering from an industrial and academic perspective."

We invite postgraduate students and postdoctoral researchers to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations. We encourage contributions applying systems thinking and tools to core and emerging applications areas, as well as contributions with a strong methodological and algorithmic component. Please submit a one-page abstract, paying special attention to describing how your work advances the current state-of-the-art, accompanied by a short CV. Note that priority will be given to senior (3rd and 4th-year) PhD students for the oral presentations. Please submit your abstract to Miss Senait Selassie:

The deadline for abstract submission will be anounced soon. Please submit one single (combined) pdf file by using the online form at the bottom of the page. All submissions will be reviewed, and acceptance notices will be sent shortly after.

YOU CAN REGISTER FOR THE EVENT BELOW. The last day for registration will be anounced soon.
