STAFF NEWSPAPER OF IMPERIAL COLLEGE OF SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND MEDICINE

Catering for charity

Roger Davis

Over 100 members of the European Caterers Association visited IC in June for a quiz night to raise money for SHELTER.

Teams from various catering companies answered questions on subjects as diverse as food and drink, slogans, London, sports and music. Imperial College fielded two teams, the Imps and the Killers, captained by Roger Davis, catering manager and Anne Kemp, conference manager.

A welcoming glass of kir and the cash bar proved to be the home teams' downfall - they finished mid field after disastrous rounds on London and music.

The evening raised £400 and a grant cheque was presented to SHELTER on behalf of the ECA.

The ECA were very impressed with the home of the University Challenge winners and hope to organise other events at Imperial College in the future.

Roger Davis is the catering manager.
