The QSE Hub at Imperial College London is delighted to offer an additional two studentships for students to work with our project partner, the National Physical Laboratory (NPL).

NPL is an internationally renound research institute at the forefront of innovation in science and technology including quantum engineering. NPL has over 150 postgraduate students working on research projects and the following projects are available to students receiving NPL partner studentships from the QSE Hub:

Students choosing to work on the above NPL projects will join the EPSRC supported doctoral training cohort for the first year MSc: the academic courses, labwork, outreach activities and cohort building are exactly the same. 

Academic Requirements

Applicants to the QSE Hub must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a subject closely related to the research in the Hub such as Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science. The majority of successful applicants hold a Master’s degree (MSci or MSc). The minimum degree requirement is 2.1 or its equivalent for MSc graduates or a first  for BSc graduates.

How to apply

Applications should be submitted online. There is no deadline for the partner project studentships. Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, so early applications are recommended. The Hub offers full funding, that is, tuition fees and living expenses to UK students and EU students who have been resident in the UK for three years prior to joining the Hub. EU students who do not meet the residency requirement are eligible for fees only. Unfortunately, we do not have any funding for overseas students.
