The College has been allocated a three year Research England GCRF award running from 1 August 2018 to 31 July 2021.

Funding is available to support activities across three main activity streams: (i) support the creation of sustainable networks, (ii) fund collaborative research activities with a view to preparing academic colleagues to respond to future opportunities under GCRF and, (iii) to undertake knowledge exchange to transfer existing research outputs to the benefit of partner organisations.

Activities to be supported include:

  • Visits and networking activities between Imperial academics and collaborators at one or more research organisations in an eligible ODA country;
  • Exploratory research and pump-priming activities which have the potential to benefit one or more ODA countries (this should be undertaken in partnership with Research Organisations in eligible ODA countries);
  • Knowledge exchange, building on previously developed research outputs, which aims to benefit one or more ODA countries through collaborations with Research Organisations, Government Agencies, Third-Sector Organisations or Social Enterprises.
