25 years of the Finnis-Sinclair potential. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the publication in Philosophical Magazine of the paper entitled "A simple empirical N-body potential for transition metals" by Mike Finnis and Jim Sinclair. The paper is now the most highly cited paper (more than 1400 citations) from the Philosophical Magazine A Series (1978-2002).
