Developing a better understanding of age-related neurodegenerative diseases

The Neuroepidemiology and Ageing Research Unit is part of the School of Public Health at Imperial College, based across the Charing Cross Hospital and White City campuses. The department is headed by Professor Lefkos Middleton.

What we do

The common aim of projects within the department is to better understand risk and protective factors for neurodegenerative diseases of ageing (including Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease) on a population level, and in turn inform methods for early prediction and prevention.
