The Move Imperial Hammersmith Gym is located in the sub-basement of the Commonwealth Building at Hammersmith Campus. The gym was completely refurbished in September 2018 to include state of the art equipment from Matrix and includes a range of cardiovascular and resistance equipment as well as free weights to achieve a full body workout.
The gym is open to students, Imperial and NHS staff based at the Hammersmith Hospital. The facility is unmanned, although a member of the Active Lifestyles team will visit this facility on a weekly basis to complete cleaning and equipment checks. If you have any other enquiries, please contact us.

Accessing the gym
Imperial College Students:
Step 1: If you haven’t already, sign up for the annual £55 Imperial College Student Gym and Swim membership
Step 2: Contact the Active Lifestyles Team to request for access to be added to your College ID card. Access will remain until the 31 August each year. (Imperial Student Gym and Swim members do not need to complete a further Health Commitment Statement as this was completed as part of your registration process at Ethos.)
Club Imperial Members:
Step 1: If you already have a Club Imperial membership and would like access to the Sport Imperial Hammersmith Hospital Gym please contact the Active Lifestyles Team to request for access to be added to your College ID card. Access will remain until you cancel your Club Imperial membership. (Club Imperial members do not need to complete a further Health Commitment Statement as this was completed as part of your registration process at Ethos.)
Imperial College Staff and NHS Staff:
Step 1: Contact the Active Lifestyles Team (College staff click here. NHS staff click here) to confirm the membership you are wishing applying for.
Step 2: A member of the Active Lifestyles Team will email you an online payment link and Health Commitment Statement.
Step 3: Complete the required payment online and return the completed Health Commitment Statement to the Active Lifestyles Team.
Step 4: Once the Active Lifestyles Team have received notification of your payment and a copy of your Health Commitment Statement they will contact the Security Team at Hammersmith Hospital to have your card activated for the duration of the selected membership.
Step 5: A member of the Active Lifestyles Team will email you to confirm that your card has been activated and the date it will expire.
