Move Imperial Charing Cross Gym
The Move Imperial Charing Cross Gym Gym is located on the lower ground floor of the Reynolds Building at the Charing Cross campus. The main gym was completely refurbished in September 2018 to include state of the art equipment from Matrix. The gym includes a range of cardiovascular equipment and free weights to cater for a variety of training methods.
Move Imperial Strength and Conditioning Gym
The Move Imperial Strength and Conditioning gym is located in the lower ground floor of the Reynolds Building at Charing Cross Campus. This room is an all free weights gym area for members who are advanced in this training method, including but not limited to: Olympic lifting platforms, Full rig Squat Racks, Bench Pull & a Glute/Hamstring Device. Throughout term time this room will be used by both ICSM and IC performance teams as well as Clubs at scheduled times; when these sessions occur, the room cannot be used by general members. Please refer to the timetable which will be placed out on the outside of the performance room door.
The Move Imperial Gym at Charing Cross Hospital is unmanned. A member of the Active Lifestyles team will visit this facility on a weekly basis to complete cleaning and equipment checks. If you have any other enquiries, please contact us.
Accessing the gym and strength and conditioning gym
Imperial College Students
Step 1: If you haven’t already, sign up for the annual £30 Imperial College Student Gym and Swim
Step 2: Contact the Active Lifestyles Team to request for access to be added to your College ID card. Access will remain until the 31st August each respective year. Imperial College Student Gym and Swim members do not need to complete a further Health Commitment Statement as this was completed as part of your registration process at Ethos.
Club Imperial Members:
Step 1: If you already have a Club Imperial membership and would like access to the Sport Imperial Hammersmith Hospital Gym please contact the Active Lifestyles Team to request for access to be added to your College ID card. Access will remain until you cancel your Club Imperial membership. Club Imperial members do not need to complete a further Health Commitment Statement as this was completed as part of your registration process at Ethos.
Imperial College Staff and NHS Staff:
Step 1: and complete the Health Commitment Statement and send to the Active Lifestyles Team (Imperial College staff click here. NHS staff click here)
Step 2: A member of the Active Lifestyles Team will email you an online payment link
Step 3: Complete the required payment online
Step 4: Once the Active Lifestyles Team have received notification of your payment they will contact the Security Team at Hammersmith Hospital to have your Card Activated for the duration of your selected membership.
Step 5: A member of the Active Lifestyles Team will email you to confirm that your card has been activated and the date it will expire.

Strength and conditioning gym - Club block bookings
Move Imperial Sports Clubs will have the opportunity to block book the Strength and Conditioning Gym to support their Club training sessions. Block bookings are restricted to set days and times to ensure other individual members can still enjoy the benefits of using this gym. Bookings will be taken from the beginning of term and will run through to the end of the Summer Term.
A timetable of use will be placed on the entrance door as well as on the notice board inside the gym to clearly identify the days and times the gym has been booked for club training.
All Club members wishing to utilise the Strength and Conditioning Gym are required to sign up for the annual £30 Imperial College Student Gym and Swim membership.

Strength and conditioning gym rules
It is importance to note that the Strength and Conditioning Room has very specific rules that all students must be follow:
- Always wear appropriate shoes (no black soles, sandals or flip flops).
- Always wear appropriate clothing. Jeans or trousers will not be permitted.
- Never train alone, you must be accompanied by another authorized member.
- Never let unathorised students use your gym card or gain entry by tailgating you.
- Do not leave the gym door open.
- No food is allowed.
- No bags are allowed on the gym floor at any time.
- Always place your weights back after use.
- Do not remove any gym equipment from the room.
If any of the above has not been adhered to fully, access to the facility may be revoked.
