Reynolds Energia Gym
The Reynolds Energia Gym is located on the lower ground floor of the Reynolds Building at the Charing Cross campus. The gym is free to all students and has been specially designed to suit functional fitness training.
Increasingly popular, functional training utilises specific exercises, equipment and programmes to help you perform everyday activities more easily and without injury. It's also a great way to improve your total body strength, posture, core and general fitness.
A member of the Active Lifestyles Team will be present 15.00 - 19.00 on Mondays. If you have any other enquiries, please contact us.
Strength and Conditioning room
The Energia Strength and Conditioning Room has state-of-the-art facilities for students who want to maximise their athletic performance. The room has the very best Elieko weightlifting bars and plates, Pullum Sport platforms, squat racks and a wide variety of dumbbells, plus a bench pull and a glut hamstring raise.
Accessing the gym
To access the gym at Reynolds, you must have received an orientation at Ethos and completed a Health Commitment Statement and terms and conditions.

Accessing the strength and conditioning suite
To gain access to the room you will need to be a registered member of a Sport Club at Imperial College London. The Active Lifestyles Team will arrange group orientations via Club Captains during October and November. If your club would like to organise an orientation please contact us to arrange a time. You will not be able to access the Energia Strength and Conditioning Room until you have completed an orientation and filled in an HCS (Health Commitment Statement) form.
Following the completion of a group orientation, selected club committee members will be provided access on student ID cards. Group club sessions will be encouraged. A maximum of 15 people are allowed to train in the Energia Strength and Conditioning Room at any one time.
A member of the Active Lifestyles Team will be present 13.00 - 19.00 on Mondays.
Strength and conditioning room rules
It is importance to note that the Energia Strength and Conditioning Room has very specific rules that all students must be follow:
- No orientation, no access!
- Always wear appropriate shoes (no black soles, sandals or flip flops).
- Always wear appropriate clothing. Jeans or trousers will not be permitted.
- Never train alone, you must be accompanied by another authorized member.
- Never let unathorised students use your gym card or gain entry by tailgating you.
- Do not leave the gym door open.
- No food is allowed.
- No bags are allowed on the gym floor at any time.
- Always place your weights back after use.
- Do not remove any gym equipment from the room.
If any of the above has not been adhered to fully, access to the facility may be revoked.
