There can be benefits to look for mentors from outside the College. Whenever we hear of external mentoring schemes that might be of relevance to people in Imperial, we will list them here.

  • Academy of Medical Sciences – represents the diversity of medical science including nurturing the next generation of medical researchers. They currently offer mentoring to post-doctoral biomedical researchers
  • The Royal Society – is the scientific academy of the UK and Commonwealth dedicated to promoting excellence in science. They currently offer a mentoring schemes for Royal Society funded early career Research Fellows
  • The Royal Society of Chemistry – is the world’s leading chemistry community advancing excellence in the chemical sciences.
  • MentorSET – offers  cross-sector mentoring to support women in Science, Engineering and Technology. It is co-ordinated by Women in Engineering Society.
