Who should attend

All staff who lead on health and safety management and improvement within a ‘real world’ academic setting.  The course contents are based around the Safety Leadership (Plan, Do, Check, Act) guidance co-authored by the Universities Safety and Health Association (USHA).

This training is delivered by a lawyer specialising in the defence and prosecution of health and safety offences, and focuses on individual health and safety duties and responsibilities for those working at Imperial College.

  • A safety Incident
  • An Interview under caution
  • A courtroom scenario

The session will demonstrate why things have gone wrong and the importance of knowing what is actually happening in the areas you control.
The session will end with a brief discussion to share learning points, identify preventative actions, and so assist you with developing and maintaining a proactive safety culture.
