Who should attend
All staff who lead on health and safety management and improvement within a ‘real world’ academic setting. The course contents are based around the Safety Leadership (Plan, Do, Check, Act) guidance co-authored by the Universities Safety and Health Association (USHA).
This training is delivered on MS Teams by a lawyer specialising in the defence and prosecution of health and safety offences and focuses on individual health and safety duties and responsibilities for those working at Imperial College.

The training includes:
- A safety Incident
- An Interview under caution
- A courtroom scenario
The session will demonstrate why things have gone wrong and the importance of knowing what is actually happening in the areas you control.
The session will end with a brief discussion to share learning points, identify preventative actions, and so assist you with developing and maintaining a proactive safety culture.
