Overview

A wiki is a page or collection of Web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content, using a simplified markup language. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites.

Confluence is an enterprise product mainly used at Imperial College for its wiki functionality.  It is relatively easy to learn and support, however it does not have moderation as a capability.  Anonymous (Public) access is not supported.  You can read more about this product in this Help section.

For a small group wishing to keep the content private the wiki functionality found in SharePoint would also be suitable.

  • The Wiki service provides collaborative space where many users can contibute to a set of documents.
  • College provides a central hosting platform split into seperate areas called "spaces".
  • Access the Wiki service.
  • The access permissions for individual spaces are managed by the Space Administrators (usually the person or people who requested the space).
