SES 2015/16

Phase one

All first year students, undergraduates and postgraduates, were invited to participate in the survey, which was designed to gather feedback about the first few weeks at Imperial. The survey included questions about Welcome Week, induction, accommodation and students’ first impressions of life at the College. It was open between Monday 9 November and Sunday 22 November. In total 806 students responded to the survey. Some of the questions were targeted, so not everyone was asked every question. The question with the highest response rate was ‘Overall, I was satisfied with communication from the College before I started.’

A summary of the survey results is available here: Student Experience Survey Phase One 2015.

The full anonymised survey results have been shared with the Imperial College Union. Relevant results were also shared with Faculties and a range of relevant support services departments, who were asked to prepare action plans. Having been discussed by the Vice-Provost’s Advisory Group for Education and the Provost’s Board, a summary of the action plans is available here: Student Experience Survey Phase 1 Action Plans.

Phase two

Phase two of the survey was open between 14th March and 3rd April 2016. A survey link was sent to Undergraduate students in their penultimate year of study and second year Postgraduate Research students. Phase Two of the Survey contained a wide range of questions about students’ experiences of College support services and the Union. In total, 563 completed survey responses were submitted. A summary of the survey results is available here: Student Experience Survey Phase Two 2015.
