Student bloggers wanted banner

Are you a keen and creative writer? Want to tell people what it's really like at Imperial?

What does being an Imperial student blogger involve?

We’re on the lookout for natural storytellers who can help us convey what it’s really like to study at Imperial.Student on her laptop

As a student blogger, you will have access to your own personal blog on our Student Blogs site.

You’ll have the freedom to produce your own independent content about life at the College for people who are thinking of studying here.

As a minimum, you’ll need to produce two blog posts a month (or more). These can be written or you could use video or photos to tell us what you’ve been up to.

This is a great way for you to develop your communication skills – with official recognition of your achievements available through the Union’s Imperial Plus scheme.

This is more than just a chance to enhance your CV – though it will help with that too – it’s also a way to focus on developing the sort of key skills (including communication, literacy, self reflection) that employers look for in their future employees.

You’ll also get:

  • A welcome gift pack worth around £100
  • An opportunity to win 'blogger of the month' prizes such as Amazon vouchers

How do I apply?

We welcome students of all years and departments, from new undergraduates through to research students on the brink of gaining their PhD.

To apply, simply tell us about your start-of-term experience by:

  • writing a 600 blog post; or
  • submitting a photo or video blog with a covering email explaining what makes you suitable for this role – don’t forget to caption your photos!

Send your submission to studentblogs@imperial.ac.uk by no later than 12.00 on Tuesday 25 October 2016. We will choose 12 bloggers to join our team from the best entries we receive.
