The Costume Store opened in September 2012, on the site that once housed the BBC’s costume collection. Owned by iQ Student Accommodation, the residence houses 730 students (mainly from the University of Arts London) arranged in four blocks rising to 17 storeys. It is located in the bustling student community of North Acton, situated a couple of minutes away from the College's Kemp Porter Buildings and Woodward Buildings, as well as being opposite North Acton underground station.

Imperial will be occupying 48 ensuite bedrooms arranged in cluster style apartments.  You can learn more about The Costume Store in the Living Guide The Costume Store 2021-22

Maintenance works

It should be noted that throughout the 2021-22 academic year, iQ (the owner of The Costume Store) will be carrying out significant external maintenance works to replace the current façade on the building. The building has been certified as safe for occupation by industry experts.

Works will take place on site from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. It will be done in phases to minimise any inconvenience to residents. There is, however, likely to be some disruption from noise and dust when contractors are working on the section of the building in which you live. Scaffolding will also be put up around the building which may mean some rooms have less light than normal. You will be able to open windows and you can have one way film installed to protect your privacy.
